Observations From a Modern Day Pragmatist

My purpose in creating this blog is to record personal observations and reflections on matters that I consider noteworthy. What we call life is basically an infinite potpourri of events that are interpreted in our minds, and result in consequences--some within our control, most beyond our control.

Conservatives are Like Arsonists

I don't know what's worse, the incredulous ineptitude of the Bush Administration and the world havoc it continues to generate, or the fact that the perpetrators are "going to get away with it." Yes, the architects of doom-- George W., Paul Wolfowitz, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Conoleeza Rice, Colin Powell, and Karl Rove -- arguably the core people responsible for the death and destabilization occurring in the Middle East -- are going to live comfortably for the rest of their natural lives. It isn't fair.

Justice not served is a sickening feeling. It is a triumph of evil over good. It is, to get religious, a departure from what God would want--righteousness. Bush and company have successfully executed their agenda of invading Iraq. I'm sure that, in private they are "disappointed" at the state of affairs four years later. What galls me is that, through dilution of accountability, these characters have not only thwarted criticism, but amazingly are able to continue with their plan under the guise of "determination." It's an easy sell to a dumbed-down America that has an affinity to aggression. "Kick those G---mn Muslims' asses! They killed our people on 9/11!" Let me tell you, the only reason why these characters won't admit they are wrong is because it is political suicide to admit you are wrong. It's never been done. In the process of saving their political careers, they are wasting badly-needed tax dollars and causing the deaths of American military personnel and Iraqi civilians, including children. I believe that if it weren't for our history of spending trillions of dollars on our military hardware and operations, we would in this year 2006 have colonies on Mars, cities under the ocean, a cure for cancer, and a high-speed rail system that connected all major metropolitan cities in the US, to name a few.

The Bush cartel has started a major conflagration, and as the administration approaches its last day in office, the members will quietly blend back into the societal fold, with nary a slap on the wrist for their crimes. Yes, crimes. When you lie by omitting information, exagerrating information or knowingly giving false information in order to achieve a goal, or support someone that you know has committed such actions, that is a crime in my book, especially when it results in the unnecessary loss of life. The Bush cartel are the arsonists, and they are GOING TO GET AWAY WITH IT. And let's not forget global warming. It's a shame when the world's last superpower and self-proclaimed leader of democracy sits out on a global effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and makes it easier for polluters to circumvent strict environmental laws. It's a shame when this superpower ignores science and decides for itself that global warming is "just a theory." To borrow the words of Condoleeza Rice, if we wait and see if global warming is true, the smoking gun will be super hurricanes and the submergence of the whole state of Florida.

The bastards are going to get away with it. Damn. Justice undone. I want them to be held accountable, and punished in some way; I'll even be satisfied with a censure from the United Nations. Powell was wrong! Bush was Wrong! And they haven't even apologized! Wake up world!
